Bio/About Me
Keith Waterman has been involved with music all his life but he got his first taste of “electronic music” in 1993 when he was introduced to the musical styling of a couple of Orlando, Florida’s top dogs: AK1200 and Kimball Collins. “their two styles were completely different but they both grabbed my attention” he says. Keith admits he had a childhood dream of wanting to become a hip-hop DJ (few people know this, but he’s actually an in-the-closet booty music freak). He adds “I grew up listening to some crazy shit … everything from oldies, 70’s rock-n-roll, & 80’s pop.” He even admits to “singing tunes from boyz2men!” But after hearing House for the first time, his taste seriously evolved and it became a new obsession. From that point on, he had to learn all he could about “the scene” and where to get the right music, after all a Dj is “only as good as his bag of tracks”. It was ‘94/95 when he made his first feeble attempts at mixing. He practiced on his roommates equipment when no one was around & after a couple months finally got the nerve to mix in front of people. These days he’s obviously much better! As far as musical stylings, he more or less sticks with progressive, trance, Tech House, Minimal, Progressive and Electro Breaks. Some of his biggest influences have been Trance/House guru’s: Kimball Collins, Jerry Boaze, Chris Fortier, Jimmy Van M, John Digweed, & Sasha. Keith enjoys DJing because of the interaction with the crowd. He has spun at many different bars and clubs around Central Florida including many events in Downtown Melbourne primarily at The Gallery with Dj Edge Howk(Wicked, Ibiza Sounds of Summer, Heaven & Hell) and an occasional drop at FooBar. He also played alongside of his late friend and Dj partner Dj Fl.Oz. on “The Vinyl Groove” a radio show started by Fl.Oz. on Real Talk 101.7 out of West Palm Beach. Keith has also begun fiddling around with the production side of things. With so many good DJs out there, a good track of your own is almost a necessity to get ahead in this industry. His current project is working on a dark electro progressive track .. not sure when it will be done. Keith has also taken on a weekly Monday night(10pm-12am) slot on Party95.com. Surely, you’ll soon be hearing more from this artist. Known as Florida’s own John Digweed, his mixes take you on a seamless journey. Check this guy out wherever you can!
