Fyre Festival Releases Statement and It’s Lacking A Lot

Fri, 04/28/2017 - 3:07pm

Fyre Festival has turned out to be a complete and utter debacle for everyone involved.

We now have an official statement from the organizers, but it still leaves a lot of questions unanswered.

Here it is:

Fyre Festival set out to provide a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience on the Islands of the Exumas.

Due to circumstances out of our control, the physical infrastructure was not in place on time and we are unable to fulfill on that vision safely and enjoyably for our guests. At this time, we are working tirelessly to get flights scheduled and get everyone off of Great Exuma and home safely as quickly as we can. We ask that guests currently on-island do not make their own arrangements to get to the airport as we are coordinating those plans. We are working to place everyone on complimentary charters back to Miami today; this process has commenced and the safety and comfort of our guests is our top priority.

The festival is being postponed until we can further assess if and when we are able to create the high- quality experience we envisioned.

We ask for everyone’s patience and cooperation during this difficult time as we work as quickly and safely as we can to remedy this unforeseeable situation. We will continue to provide regular updates via email to our guests and via our official social media channels as they become available.

-The Fyre Festival Team

Ja Rule himself just released a brief statement on Twitter, as well.

Welp, there you have it. And, “regular updates” don’t seem to be too promising, considering this was the festival’s last Facebook post…

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

Only 17 days left. Lets go!

Will K, Sebjak Collab For The Monstrous Single, “Kumasi” [NOFACE Records]

Fri, 04/28/2017 - 2:47pm

According to Wikipedia, Kumasi is “a city in the Ashanti Region, and is among the largest metropolitan areas in Ghana”.  In the context of the EDM world, Kumasi has spawned a second definition, that is as being an absolute banger. “Kumasi” is fresh of the press and is the brand new single from Will K and Sebjak that is electrifying from start to finish.

It kicks off with a fiery buildup, and then just hits you right in the face with a drop that is never loses its might no matter how many times you hear it. The arrangement of percussion in this track is flawless as the boys use an array of percussion sounds to guide the entire song, something that’s not easy to do, but when done right, is incredible. I tip my hat to Will K and Sebjak for this collaboration and hopefully we’ll hear more from the two of them soon!

The Chainsmokers Release A Super Powerful Remix Pack for “Something Just Like This”

Fri, 04/28/2017 - 2:25pm

The Chainsmokers – “Something Like This” just got a massive remix pack that will be sure to have you dancing your way through the weekend!

While The Chainsmokers are a pretty big deal themselves, the duo’s rise to super-stardom has put them in a position to have some of the world’s most renowned DJs remixing their stuff.

Alesso turns the ballad-like song into a festival anthem that’s already proven to play well to a crowd, as he debuted his remix at Ultra 2017. R3hab utilizes tropical vibes to totally transform it into “something” fresh. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike add in some bold, big room effects with a totally unexpected drop that somehow fits perfectly. Count on Don Diablo for the most dance-infused track, while ARMNHMR packs in unique, bursting soundscapes more suitable for vibing out. Jai Wolf‘s take sounds like something that came straight out of a retro inspired dream.

Listen to all of ’em right here!

Your EDM Premiere: Syn Cole & Nevve – Sway

Fri, 04/28/2017 - 2:08pm

Avicii’s discovery of Syn Cole back in 2012 is a gift that keeps on giving. The Estonian producer has delivered anthemic track after track over the years. His newest, “Sway,” is no different with the massive, emotion packed instrumental that features a gorgeous performance from the quickly rising vocalist Nevve (who’s already worked with Illenium, Kill Paris, and Elephante to name a few).

Syn Cole and Nevve are a perfect fit for one another, so fingers crossed there’s more collaborations coming in the future. For now, we are more than happy to have Sway!

Fyre Festival Becomes a Disastrous Nightmare for Attendees, Postpones Event

Fri, 04/28/2017 - 12:38pm

Holy crap, what a disaster. The Fyre Festival, a new, upscale music festival set on a private island in the Exumas, has turned out to be a horrible scam. Announced a few months ago with a campaign sponsored by Instagram models and organized by Ja Rule and Billy McFarland, the festival promised attendees a luxurious experiences with ticket prices ranging from $1,500 to a whopping £250,000 that came with allegedly full-scale villas and catering.

The experienced sounded like a beachy Burning Man on paper, but the actual festival has gone up in metaphorical and nearly literal flames before it’s even officially begun. The chaos began on Thursday as attendees attempted to travel to the festival. The private island quickly reached capacity, with thousands of attendees stuck on cancelled flights with refunded tickets. To make matters worse, the state of the festival on the island turned out to be chaotic: attendees being locked in the local airport for hours, learning that their luxury cabanas were disaster relief tents, finding out many tents had not been assembled yet, having their luggage dropped in a shipping container for storage and more.

Blink-182 cancelled their headlining performance, and this morning the Fyre Festival’s official Twitter announced the festival would be postponed as they make efforts to get everyone home safely.

Due to unforeseen and extenuating circumstances, Fyre Festival has been fully postponed (con't)

— Fyre Festival (@fyrefestival) April 28, 2017

The full debacle has been well documented on Twitter (where it became a trending hashtag), the Fyre Festival subreddit, Instagram (ironically) and other social media platforms. It appears the experience may be getting a bit exaggerated by /r/TheDonald users aiming to sir the fire, but overall the festival has gone down as a complete disaster before it even officially began. Even the TomorrowWorld proceedings didn’t turn out this horribly.

Let’s call this festival for what it is: the Dumpster Fyre Festival.

Your EDM Premiere: BLU J – Light (feat. Nevve)

Fri, 04/28/2017 - 11:14am

BLU J and Nevve might be two different types of artists in the vast space we call the dance music scene, but they’ve both been extremely prolific since the turn of the year and they’re both super talented so I’m glad to see them finally link up here for “Light.”

The track comes via Zed’s Dead’s rocking new label DeadBeats which is as sure of an endorsement from dance music legends as I’ve ever seen. As always, BLU J manages to get the most emotion of the vocals as possible with their deep and bouncy house instrumental which will have you dancing from the second you hit that play button till you’re halfway out to the club tonight. Think bouncy after-hours house instrumental meets soaring yet edgy female vocals. Of course, with two individual artists as talented as they are, “Light” was bound to be a smash from the get-go.

Renegade Hardware Says Their Last Epic Farewell With “The Final Chapter”

Fri, 04/28/2017 - 3:38am

It’s finally here: the legendary drum and bass record label Renegade Hardware is releasing its final retrospective spanning their 22-year tenure in the scene. The Final Chapter is an epic release with over 100 digital tracks and a collection of incredible DJ mixes. Your EDM was thrilled when the Renegade Hardware team decided to pen the following in a heartfelt goodbye to DJs, fans and friends on our site. We gave the team a few questions and, as usual, they gave us their all in their response, as well as an exciting announcement. Keep reading for one last gorgeous gift from this influential label.

So today’s the day of the final digital release from Renegade Hardware, The Final Chapter. How does it feel knowing that this is truly the end of such a legendary drum and bass establishment?

It’s definitely a big day for us at Renegade Hardware. We’re extremely excited to share this body of work, comprised of so many talented artists – both newcomers and household names alike. That said, to put an end to something that’s been around for over two decades is very bittersweet. We wanted to go out on top and leave behind something for all of our loyal fans worldwide, and we hope we’ve gone some way in achieving that goal with this album.

The Final Chapter LP was a huge project to undertake and one we began putting together over a year ago. In the midst of creating the album we were reminded of the many reasons why Renegade Hardware was established. From the countless demo submissions from “up and coming” producers that were filled with love, enthusiasm and hope at one last chance to be on the label, right through to scene veterans, who privately expressed deep gratitude for the many doors RH had opened for them and what it really meant for people to grow up with the label as such a staple part of their lives. It’s in those moments that we realise what Renegade Hardware set out to do from its conception, and after 22 years this still holds weight in the chaotic, ever-changing world of drum & bass. We also understand that it’s good to pass the torch along to the younger generation and make space for new labels to break ground and become the next “movers and shakers” of our music culture.

It seems this subject has been talked about quite extensively in the run up to RH’s closure, but explain a little about the reasons for ending the label.

Renegade Hardware has always been a team-ran label and at the head of this team has always been the label’s owner, Clayton Hines. The decision to put an end to RH has definitely been deeply rooted in the fact that Clayton just feels he is done with it all. After putting out records for 25 years, he’s ready to move on to a different chapter in his life. His drive and love for the music industry – not to mention the sound of drum & bass in general – has died out. When you can’t put your whole focus and love into what you do then results will suffer and more importantly, he wants to remain true to himself. If something isn’t making you happy anymore then it’s time to move on to something new that fulfills you again.

There have been many people over the years who’ve co-managed the label with Clayton, such as Ink, Loxy, Chris Renegade, Yoko, Scott Cold Fusion and in recent years Joanna Syze. Many people have asked the obvious question: “why not give the label over to someone else to keep it going?” The simple answer to that is that it seems undeniably impossible to separate Clayton from Renegade Hardware. It’s one of those things where the soul of the label from its birth to its end is a reflection of Clayton. We at the Renegade Hardware team, however, have been fortunate enough to have this opportunity to put out one last project; it just didn’t feel right to just close the doors with empty hands.

The Final Chapter is quite extensive, with about a hundred tracks on it as well as DJ mixes. How did the team come to the decision to structure it thus? How tough was it to go through Renegade’s huge catalog and pick out the single tracks?

The layout of the project was definitely something we had to figure out well in advance to ensure it made sense to the public as there are so many tracks that all represent different corners of the RH sound. We split the project up into four parts:

1. Neuroware RH has always been a label deeply rooted in dark techy sounds – some may say we helped to pioneer it. We also understand that at the moment the neuro sound is a very big deal, reaching areas of sound we are proud to say we’ve always been huge supporters of. The label was one of the first to start releasing neuro tech sounds and one the best example of that would be the iconic anthem “Messiah” by Konflict. We wanted to have a section of the LP dedicated to the sounds of the future; after all, our logo at RH has always read: “Future Beats for Future People”. The Neuroware pack includes new producers as well as established artists and it’s a killer bundle.

2. Horesementality Here we dive into the deeper side of the Renegade Hardware sound and those familiar, organic breakbeats and warm tones. We couldn’t leave out this vital part of Renegade Hardware history, made popular by label heavyweights Loxy & Ink. Many of our lifelong fans have been very excited that such a big collection of the Horsemen sound will be represented.

3. Rewired We decided to pick ten tracks from our back catalog for a remix package. It was no easy task for the select chosen few to undertake, but the results are a thing of beauty and we’re confident the fans will be excited by these heavy remixes that breathe new life into those classics from yesteryear.

4. Magnum Opus And finally we delve deep into the RH vaults. As you mentioned, this was no easy task! How do you narrow down 22 years of anthems and memorable tunes? We tried our best and went back and forth until we put together the final 31. So with 104 tracks and 2 continues DJ mixes, we wanted to go out big.

On the DJ mixes, did the DJ’s feel a certain responsibility to pay homage to the label, or was it just kind of a going away party?

The DJ mixes for us were just another way for our fans to enjoy the album. Each mix represents the album bundles, so all the tracks from each bundle are featured in the relevant mixes – with a few cheeky exclusives thrown in for good measure! RH, TOV & Barcode have always released mix CD’s in the past, so I think the fans are used to us putting out mixes; it’s a tradition we couldn’t leave out.

What, if anything, is next for Clayton and everyone else currently managing RH? Is everyone splitting off or still planning on working together? Does Trouble on Vinyl continue in some form as well?

Good question! Clayton has been hard at work on his food line, “Jerk Me Crazy”, that includes a handful of rather tasty hot sauces. He’s been getting deeper and deeper into the food industry over the past few years and working towards opening his own restaurant and line of Caribbean style condiments and drinks. He’s also been in talks to write a book. He’s never been one to shy away from speaking his mind and the man has a lot of history to share, so it’s safe to say he’s got a lot on his plate at the minute. On top of all this, he’s still promoting a few events here and there, which are more geared towards the old 1995-2005 sound of drum & bass.

Giles aka DJ Ink, the foundation to the operation, or as we like to call him, “the anchor to the Renegade Hardware ship” is still going about his music production, DJing shows worldwide and running his own label Architecture Recordings. We don’t see him slowing down anytime soon in putting out quality Horsemen-style tunes and continuing to inspire the next wave of producers. He’s also the proud father of two beautiful kids: preparing the next generation for world domination!

As for the rest of us who help manage the label, we too are venturing off in separate directions. Some of the team will continue their business behind the scenes and work for other labels, while others will continue to produce music and perform at events. As one door closes many others open. While our work at Renegade Hardware may be done, our contribution to the worldwide drum and bass movement will still continue!

With the drop of the digital album happening today, RH has one last announcement for fans, in the form of a vinyl box set and merch for The Final Chapter. What’s the date of this release, and what will the box set contain? What’s the other merchandise?

Well, we couldn’t say goodbye without dropping one last infamous RH box set, could we? People need to follow us on our Renegade Hardware fanpage via Facebook where we will be announcing the exact details for purchase links and release dates in the coming weeks. But, what we can tell you for now is that there will be two different packages for sale:

Option onethis will consist of a five piece vinyl boxset containing 20 tracks.

Option twothis is the the mother lode and it’s got all of us at Renegade Hardware very excited indeed. The ‘Deluxe Boxset’ will have just about everything in it. A bespoke, spot varnished spot card box, housing five 12″ pieces of vinyl in individual printed disco sleeves, all beautifully mastered by the legendary Beau at 1087 Mastering. The deluxe package will also include a four page pull-out booklet a huge merchandise package: t-shirt, dog tags, lanyard, badges, slip mats, A3 poster, stickers and a draw-bag. This is truly a one-of-a-kind, limited edition collectors item. Once they are gone, they’re gone, never to be re-pressed, so people need to follow closely for more details to be announced soon.

Is the box set really the last thing to come from Renegade Hardware, or does the label have more surprises we’re not at liberty to discuss?

Yes. The digital release and box set collectors items are the last for Renegade Hardware. So if you’ve been a long time collector of the merchandise and vinyl, then this is your last chance to grab hold of these last physical RH products. It really wouldn’t have felt like a complete goodbye if we didn’t do some physical release on the project.

Is there anything else the RH staff have to say to fans, producers and DJs as we all experience the closing of this huge chapter in drum and bass?

It’s been a long road and an epic journey. There have been tough times, but on the whole it’s been absolutely incredible. We can happily look back and see the list of names who’ve graced the RH back catalog, the likes of Spor, Noisia, Pendulum, Konflict, Chase & Status, Loxy, Ink, Usual Suspects, Future Cut and so many, many more that we’d need pages to list them! It’s fair to say, there hasn’t been that many of today’s A-list artists who haven’t either gotten their start via RH or who haven’t walked through our doors at one time or another.

So, to everyone who at some point in their lives has contributed to the growth of our label, we want to say a huge thank you! We thank you for believing in our vision, the method to our madness and being part of shaping not only the label, but also the very sound and culture of Drum and Bass worldwide. Not many labels can close their doors and walk away saying they’ve made a difference. We hope that ‘The Final Chapter LP’ is a body of work all of our fans can take away as our gift to them.

Much Love & Respect,
The RH Team

Fri, 04/28/2017 - 12:01am

Ellie Goulding has been away from EDM for a little while, but we couldn’t be happier that she’s stepping back into the limelight with this epic collaboration with Kygo.

It seems that Kygo is gearing up for a great 2017-2018 as he’s already collaborated with Selena Gomez, and adding another Triple-A talent like Ellie to his featured roster is only indicative of one thing: there’s still way more to come.

The track speaks for itself. It’s just… incredible. Ellie Goulding we love you!

We Decoded The EDC 2017 Lineup & Broke Down The Stages

Thu, 04/27/2017 - 10:45pm

Insomniac head Pasquale Rotella took to the airwaves this evening to reveal the complete lineups for eight of Electric Daisy Carnival‘s most acclaimed stages coming this June. From the kineticFIELD – adorned with this year’s “Gaia” theme – to the now-fireproof bassPOD, each of the festival’s iconic platforms were discussed in detail before their respective rosters were unveiled via a hectic live mashup of the artists’ corresponding tracks.

First on the block was the cosmicMEADOW, known for its expansive grass field and endlessly wide stage production. Rotella said that in 2017, the stage would be extended even further out to the sides and curved in towards the audience. “It feels like the stage is hugging you,” Rotella said before dropping into the lineup mix. The roster will hold 26 acts over the three-day weekend, including a mix of both DJs and live acts.

Mija
Porter Robinson
Gryffin
Major Lazer

Next up is neonGARDEN, the undisputed haven for EDC’s massive following of house heads. The stage will be hosted by Nicole Moudaber’s own MoodZONE on Friday, June 16; Ibiza-based event promotion company Pardise on Saturday, June 17; and Adam Beyer’s techno label Drumcode on Sunday, June 18. As Rotella described during the radio broadcast, neonGARDEN will represent authentic warehouse vibes throughout the weekend, with only the best deep house, tech house and techno available. There will no bells and whistles, Rotella said, just raw rhythms and an underground atmosphere.

The only brand new stage included in the broadcast was the quantumVALLEY, a fresh platform hosted by celebrated trance label Dreamstate. The lineup will consist of trance and house legends such as Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery, Markus Schulz, Aly & Fila and more.

For years, the acclaimed wasteLAND stage has been home to some of the gnarliest hardstyle and hardcore acts in the game. The stage’s design is based in a new city every year – albeit demolished and rampaged by some sort of monstrosity – and this time is no different. According to Rotella, wasteLAND attendees will be transported to Cairo, Egypt this round. Whether or not the stage will come equipped with some sort of ancient mummy plague is yet to be seen.

One of the most treasured stages in the EDC bracket has always been the bassPOD, a place for headbangers of all backgrounds to join forces in a ring of fire for three days off all-out carnage. Last year, one of the stage pieces caught fire between Excision and Andy C’s sets, causing temporary evacuations and delays. This year, Rotella said, they’ve fireproofed the entire set up.

Sixth on the agenda this evening was the upsidedownHOUSE, a stage introduced during 2016 for a two-day takeover of the Speedway. Coming as a host to the festival’s yearly Discovery Project, wherein up and coming DJs compete for a performance spot alongside the genre’s biggest names, the stage’s success has warranted it an expanded presence in 2017. This time, the upsidedownHOUSE will be up and running all three days, providing a diverse and intimate listening experience for attendees of all tastes.

As far as straightforward stage production goes, the circuitGROUNDS has consistently stood as the festival’s shining beacon. With miles of LEDs, screen panels, lasers, smoke and fire, the stage’s 2016 makeover saw the space transformed into a wild chasm of energy and sound. This year, the stage is set to host a whirlwind lineup of acts from far across the spectrum of genres. Drawing in the heaviest hitters from their respective styles, the circuitGROUNDS roster is a true dance music all-star team.

Lastly, Rotella revealed the official theme behind the “Mother” of EDC: the kineticFIELD. The iconic stage design of the festival’s crowning glory has, for years, stood as a symbol for the entire experience of attending EDC. In 2017, Rotella said the main stage will be transformed into the “Gaia Kinetic Hall.” Owl guardians will be situated on either side of the massive arena, surrounding a central statue of the Kinetic Gaia herself. The stage will even hold “four compasses” that connect with owl communities around the world, perhaps referring to the global live streams seen during last year’s event.

RBYN – Out Of The Dark [Thrive Music]

Thu, 04/27/2017 - 6:57pm

2016 was a great year for the young German producer RBYN. His self-released debut song “Angel” has received over 10 million combined streams around the world, and the anticipated follow up, “Out of the Dark,” doesn’t disappoint.

RBYN has found his stride with pop structured songs featuring powerful vocals, and this track is a perfect example of that stylistic direction. A light synth bed leads the song and allows all the production elements to come together; the percussion begins to slowly crescendo, as claps and snare follow before the chorus explodes into a pop/trap anthem. Horns croon and sway in the bridge and the whole composition moves effortlessly to create this captivating, compelling single.

This is a melodic marvel and we’ll have it on repeat for a while. Check it out below:

Your EDM Interview With Quix & Joker Ahead Of Control This Friday

Thu, 04/27/2017 - 6:25pm

Quix: a rising star in the trap game whose beats are only overshadowed by his own intense mixing style.

Joker: a legend in the dubstep scene, whose “purple” sound has drawn in many curious fans and never let them go.

Both artists will be joining Stooki Sound this Friday at Avalon Hollywood for Control, and it was too good to pass up when we were asked to interview both of them. We left the questions rather short, as we think their music more than speaks for itself, and you need to see them live to really get the full effect of their grandeur.

Tickets for tomorrow’s event are still available here.

Joker, you have a pretty unique brand of dubstep, some people like to call it “purple.” What’s the key to differentiating you sound from the rest of the pack? How do you remain unique?

I think its because people think I’m dubstep is why it might seem so unique but in my head I’ve always been making some sort of sexy RnB grime while keeping it dirty but I was brought up with dubstep and that has 100% had an influence on my sound

What tune that came out recently (how recent is up to you) do you think is going to be the next big track that’s played all year?

Joker: Last tune I put out was “Fantasy” i really like it but it being the next big track NAAA lol

Quix: Boombox Cartel released an absolute stomper called Jefe which is already packing heat and will continue to blow up this year!

Quix, this will be your first time playing Avalon and you’ve already had quite a huge 2017. What kind of energy can we expect from you going into your set?

You can definitely expect lots of unreleased music from myself. I love bringing lots of energy into every part of my set so everyone will be on their feet the whole time.

Do you guys also follow Stooki Sound? Are you familiar with them or friendly?

Quix: I’ve followed Stooki Sound for about 5 years now so it will be amazing to meet them in person for the first time. I’ve had lots of communication with them over the last year so we’ll be homies from the first handshakes.

Are you excited to play Avalon Hollywood?

Joker: Yezzir really looking forward, I love LA

Co-Founders of Bonnaroo Take A Huge Step Toward Bringing A Massive Festival to Denver [DETAILS]

Thu, 04/27/2017 - 5:59pm

The same promoter that brought you festivals like Bonnaroo and Outside Lands just got one step closer to throwing another massive music event –this time, in the great state of Colorado!

Superfly‘s proposed festival, modeled after the promotion company’s successful ventures, would begin in 2018 and bring in 30,000-60,000 people per day, over 3 days, every year. As for location, The City of Denver has recommended moving forward in the process to host the brand new music festival, potentially at Overland Park Golf Course. Now that the promoter and city are on board it’s time for negotiations.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for Denver,” Katy Strascina, the executive director for the Office of Special Events stated in a release. “We look forward to continued community engagement through the next phase of the process to ensure that local interests and values continue to play a part in the planning of the festival.”

Ultimately, the festival depends on the proceeding negotiations, but if we have any say in the matter this needs to happen. Colorado’s unparalleled landscape, gorgeous weather, and laid back vibes would make for a killer large-scale festival environment!

Late Night Alumni & Kaskade “Love Song” (Brohug Remix)

Thu, 04/27/2017 - 5:18pm

Brohug has been making all the right moves lately with fire official remix after fire official remix. This week he adds another one to the resume with a furious future house remix of smash hit “Love Song” by Late Night Alumni and Kaskade – no strangers to house music themselves.

While the original may be mellow and melancholic at times, Brohug’s banging remix is anything but. With sparkling synths and an aggressive future house ass line, the Swedish house producers turns “Love Song” into a true dance floor banger – something I thought I would never say about a Late Night Alumni record.

Festival Goers “Effortlessly” Sneak Into Coachella and Record the Whole Thing [WATCH]

Thu, 04/27/2017 - 3:56pm

Some mischievous festival goers just released a video on “how to effortlessly sneak into Coachella,” but it actually requires quite a lot of effort, and even more luck.

These guys, the Spec Bros, did successfully sneak into Coachella 2017 while recording the whole thing, but first they had to play arts and crafts to create a wardrobe that passed them off as festival personnel. Then, it was up to security to let them through the gates (this is where luck came in).

We don’t know if this is stupid, or impressive, or really what to think, but it’s worth a watch.

Note: Your EDM doesn’t condone this behavior. If you want to go to a festival, you should probably just buy a ticket.

Goshfather Is Quickly Becoming The King Of Poppy, Disco House & Here’s Why

Thu, 04/27/2017 - 3:45pm

Since splitting with his partner Jinco at the end of 2015, Goshfather has completely reinvented his sound, and we’ve been there for the ride the whole way. From his first solo release to his latest, Goshfather has been blazing his own trail in dance music and pop that has us addicted and dancing relentlessly.

His newest track is called “Everybody,” and if it doesn’t end up as one of the biggest tracks of 2017, I’ll be sorely disappointed. Goshfather himself sings on this one, adding that unique personal touch to the mix. But the real magic of the mix is in blending classic disco elements with progressive house and pop into a incredibly happy song.

There’s really no better descriptor of his sound… it’s “make you smile” music. It’s the music that that plays in my head when I imagine sheltered white kids running through a field of wheat at sunset. It’s the music that plays as a montage of your newborn child growing up plays at their first wedding. It’s the music that plays at the very end of the night, when everyone is tired, and you need that one final song to get them jumping.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Goshfather has constructed such a song. He’s found his own unique niche in dance music, something that so very few people can say lately. Seriously, when was the last time since Snails that you could point to one artist and say, “Yeah, he’s doing his own thing that no one else is doing”?

Goshfather said in an interview with us last December that he’s not “re-inventing the bicycle,” but we think that’s just him being modest. We placed him on our Artists To Watch in 2017 list, and he’s already showing that to be a wise choice.

You can check out his new single “Everybody” below, as well as a hilarious music video and a newly released “acoustic” version.
